Magnolias — Current Collection“Hand-painted on indigo ground. A commission in progress for a Chester County library.”

Aboutique surface design practice, based in a home studio just outside Philadelphia. Painterly botanical pattern study in olive and mauve

A Study In Olive & Mauve

Pattern Study,
Autumn Collection

Mixed media on linen-weight paper · Late summer

A new direction in olive and mauve — hand-painted leaves layered over a quiet ground, drawn with the belief that a pattern should be something you can live with for a long time.

This pattern study began as a series of pressed leaf arrangements on handmade paper, built up in layers of gouache and watercolour over several weeks. The olive ground is mixed from raw umber and sap green — a colour I keep returning to. Available as wallpaper or linen textile by commission.

Field Studies — Early Spring

Iris Studies,
A Detail

Gouache & watercolour, No. 14

The first irises of the year — painted fast, before the light moved. A closer look at the same sketchbook page, now at the heart of a new wallpaper commission.

Sketchbook No. 14, early spring. The irises were blooming in the kitchen garden and I painted them standing at the potting bench before they opened fully. Gouache on cold-press Arches. The repeat pattern derived from this page is now in development for a private dining room commission.

A letter from the studio —

If you have found your way here, I suspect we already understand each other.

You believe, as I do, that a home is not just a place to live — it is a place to feel. That the walls around you matter. That colour and pattern and the particular quality of a room can hold you, restore you, make you more fully yourself.

If you are ready to bring something truly one-of-a-kind into your space — something grown from a real garden, drawn by a real hand, made with the genuine belief that your home deserves to feel like magic — I would love to hear from you.

Welcome to the studio.
